Hello,
we just purchased our adobe flash media server 3.5. We should have it built and ready to go next week. I am currently using the development software to test. I just encoded a bunch of h264 files hinted for streaming. I encoded at different bit rates. ie 512 768 1000 and 1500. How would it be the easiest way for me to go about testing the dynamic streaming with you player. I do not know as but have been successful with you help in the past. here is my player i have built http://beckvideo.com/sbeck/ but now want it to stream instead of progressive down load. Thanks in advance.

In the settings.xml file, replace the path to the video with the new path, that should look like:

rtmp://........

The player does the rest. Let me know if encounter any issues.

do this player support dynamic bandwidth detection. we are just now putting together the server running fms 3.5. is this something you could help with. my player is at http://www.beckvideo.com/sbeck
i want to use the same set up except now have the files on the fms and have use dynamic bandwidth detection. how could you help with that? thank you so very much in advance. I have re-encoded al of the files to hint for streaming and are properly encoded for streaming.

I see it's working fine... it does not support bandwidth detection. Do you mean you want it to detect the user's bandwidth, and if so, provide the user with an alternative version of the current video, that is of lower quolity?

Yes. I want the player do to be able to deliver a lower or higher quality video depending on bandwidth. All running in the background. So if the user has high bandwidth the higher quality file is streamed and if bandwidth decreases during stream it switches to lower quality stream.

I understand. We will analyze the ways we could implement dynamic streaming for the following update. Alternatively, we can discuss a customization, in private. Let me know if you have the patience to wait for an update.

yes. i would like to discuss customization. when i first started working with you i wasn't really sure how to even understand xml. but with you help and patience i have been able to use the player quite effectively. however there is still things that i am uncertain about such as the bandwidth checking and dynamic streaming. once you help me get it set up i can maintain it. i will have a new server with fms 3.5 in about two weeks. i am very interested in talking with you offline on how you can help with this and a couple other ideas i have and a couple of other things as well. i look forward to hearing from you soon.
